i dont if it already has been stated. but the right to bear arms was put in the constitution, as a safeguard. allowing the us citizens to rebel against an autocratic president. (if we had one)

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear
politicians
disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and,
yes,
gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind
them
of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens.'

Without them, we are 'subjects'..

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because
they knew
most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control
message
to all of your friends.

The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in
defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is
more
important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is
supplemental.

SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN!

SWITZERLAND 'S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE A RIFLE.

SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY
CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!

IT'S A NO BRAINER!

DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS
IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET.

I'm a firm believer of the 2nd Amendment!

Unless you sharper your shield to a razor edge, then you have a really big sword.

While I agree on the 2nd amendment with you this really needs some backing. From a military view this is bull****. First we were never hit form the air and our stock piles of arms was huge. Also the whole population of japan (every man women and child) if mobilized had no hope what so ever of hold even a fraction of US soil, they just don't have the man power.
They had no local supply depots or aid stations. Air support would be non existent. Fear of an armed populace had nothing to do with it.

There is substance to the claim. After the war some journalist got Admiral Menard and one of the Japanese commanders together for an interview. When asked this question the Japanese commanded stated that they knew "every 2nd American household would have a gun. Also, that there were even shooting competitions for private citizens."

The Japanese indeed did fear the amount of firepower possessed by American citizens.

Lol, I actually posted a picture with the quote on it... trying to be funny, but some fuddy duddy mod deleted it because it was "racist." Hmmm, guess it might have been a humorous take on history and not "big 'ol racist Cass"....

Supposedly Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto said. "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."

Nm, that was the quote I had on my pic. But I'll see if I can rustle up the article that stated the interview. I remember the author had a wacky name and it's mentioned in a couple of encyclopedias.

it comes from the revolution when the british invaded the homes of the americans and we couldn't defend ourselves so when we created the constitution we put it in there
