i wasnt talking about modding the gun. just polishing certain points. read the whole statement. :p
No where did you mention polishing in the whole thread so I'm not sure where I would have gotten that.

after rereading my comment, i didnt say about polishing. but if u reread that comment and the quoted comment together it is clearly implied.

oh and semperfish.... i really dont need ur pointless incite. Plz refrain. I can hit my target, im actually pretty accurate up to 200 yards. past that im only really ok... past 300 iv never tryd.

and u can hit the target from the hip. but its not the easyist.... :naughty:[/QUOTE]

Ah, well my "pointless insight" comes from 17 yrs of Marine Corps experience, to include being a marksmanship instructor and 3 combat tours. but go ahead and burn rounds if it makes you feel good. If youre not having fun then i guess you shouldnt be spending the money.

Bump firing a gun that was originally designed to be a selectfire/FA weapon (most semis were) isnt going to hurt it.

It all boils down to if YOU want to do it and think its fun or not. If its worth blasting off $6 bucks in ammo from the hip I would be just as happy for you.

Also simply polishing up and smoothing out contact points in a fire control group that can take such "homesmithin" is just fine. I shoot mostly AKs and I could easily polish up the FCG but with an AK what, if any, accuracy Ive gained out of it would negligable.

Go with the P22, some one mentioned a TT-33, they are AWESOME little pistols as well and CHEAP to shoot. Get one of those if you dont have the coin and want to shoot centerfire. Romanian, Polish, Yugos and Chinese are all great and can be had in the $250-300 range all day long.

For an AK if you want to just fire the thing very rapidly with little resistance just get a Red Star Arms adjustable trigger. Set the thing for Single action and you can pretty much kick out a 30 round mag in less than quarter of a minute and might actually hit something too.

I've had plenty of experience with FA 7.62 AKM and it shoots roughly the same as a sigle action with an RSA trigger installed. With the FA guns, even Burst firing takes longer to empty a mag. Generally the thing forces you to burst fire of 4 to 6 rounds. Relax re aim and fire.... Muzzle climb gets stupid quick. (Even with a Brake or compensator). I've never fired a full mag in one burst as it is just not practical or useful or desirable. Even in my training It was stated that to do so is for emergency purpose only and if you do you place your Left hand on the top handguard with the magazine firmly planted in the ground or hold the gun at it's side to provide a horizontal field of fire rather than vertical. You lead ahead and work through a target field.

Sorry bumpfiring is like airsoft to me.. Playing with toys for no real reason or point, only this time these are dangerous toys. Bumpfiring is totally pointless and worthless. Why not actually try to be proficient with a given gun? this IMHO gives value and worth to the exercise of shooting. Shooting for shooting sake? Why? What is the point? Your not exercising any real talent or any real practical purpose bumpfiring. Show me a one inch group from a difficult gun at 100 meters and I'd really respect that. Show me a vid of stupid wild wasteful shooting and I'm placing you in the retard file.

On the TT-33 I'm going to be an endless broken record praising this gun. (And it's far removed cousin the CZ-52) The 7.62x25 cartridge is fricking awesome.

Full auto or near full auto fire is almost pointless outside of a combat enviroment. Even in combat, full auto by itself is only part of the formula. If you enjoy burning ammo and $$ I guess this is the point. I see huge safety issues and bad habits forming as a result of this. Not going to tell anyone not to do this, just dont have any delusions of practicality or effectiveness. keep in mind too that if you keep it up for a prolonged period you may damage your barrell. Actual machine guns have very heavy or interchangeable barrells due to the heat buildup associated with rapid fire. If youre just looking to make lots of noise firecrackers are cheaper.

Went out shooting today. Shoot a m1 garand, a ton of different .22(in which one guy had a shell fly out at super speeds and hit him in the face, wierd and hard to explain, not his fault) and took my ak. Had to try it. had to use a rubber band, but it was extremely fun. only fire a few shells though that way so we didnt use up all the ammo. that wouldnt have been fun!! but it was def worth it! lol
