Krich are you illiterate or stupid? Where did you see me asking how to stun the growth? I need to know how to avoid it out growing my tank, later then sooner. Should I explain again? Maybe English is your second language.
Seeing as how you are new, I will let it go, but you need to not insult members of this forum. Everyone here is just trying to show concern and give sound advice for the care of this fish.
Keeping a fish the correct way and keeping it healthy will result in regular growth

Try selling it on these forums to someone who has a large pond ready for the fish and its potential growth.

get a 10x5x4 pond(in feet) it would be barley big enof but is a min...
An easier solution is to return it and complain that the owner didn't give you any knowledge on the fish and they might give you a more appropriate fish for free!

Someone purchases a fish that they know nothing about,one of the largest growing fish at that,and have to come on an internet forum to be told about how stupid the purchase was and I get called names.....give me a break!...Have fun trying to slow the poor fish's growth.
Any recommendation for a similar fish that won't outgrow a 200 gallon tank?
You could get a Jaguar cichlid! Really cool and aggressive fish!!

Anybody got intellectual advice? Keep the caveman talk for the caveman forums. And I am not trying to stun its growth. I am obviously fond of the fish being that I bought it. How do I keep it in my 200 Gallon tank as long as possible. That is the better phrased question.
Purposely slowing down or stunting a fishes growth to fit your needs is not the way to go about this. Best advice given so far is to return it and find something you can properly house.
Caveman talk is buying one of the worlds largest freshwater fish without researching the fish first. ID fish, research fish, then assess wether you can house one and meet its needs. Just about as intellectual as I can make it for you.
Sorry, it's not what you want you hear but this fish is alot more than you are prepared for.
