Bamboo?.....Are you suggesting climate change, or people putting it there? Or just mentioning? Just curious.

I met the farmer this morning. Turns out the state wanted to remove the gator. The farmer paid $585 for a F&W permit to keep the gator. He's going to have to install a fence to both retain the gator from leaving and to protect it from anyone trying to harass it. His permit also will allow for a male to be added if F&W needs to relocate one from another area.

The farmer that owns the pond and surrounding area says his great grandmother planted the bamboo around several of the farm's ponds 150 years ago (he's now 66 years old). The ponds also have some of the largest water lilies I've ever seen.
 
it is farmers such as that one that contribute, with more than words, to preservation. Great guy!

how does a gator end up in such a pond? do they cross the terrain in the night? If so, from where would it have come?
