That is awesome oddball!! It's great that you got out and met the farmer and became friends with him It's awesome to hear stories of peoples lives and find great places to hangout on a sunny day like that pond and to find out the farmer is a conservationists! You might invite him to your place to see your fish .

BTW, I counted 3 different species of bamboo growing wild around this pond. Some of the older stands look to be about 4" in diameter.

Are there any native species of bamboo? Or are those species exotic? I have never heard of bamboo growing on US soil.
