I was wondering, is it worth trying to keep a FH (8cm) with a GT (6cm) in a 55gallon for around a year?

Hoping if they grow up together they might get alone?

he i just picked this guy up from a women who didnt have time for him anymore so i got it for free i was told its a male bred dragon is this correct? & i also have 2 3in ones in a 55gl what breed are these f.h's also i feed them hikari gold , new life spectrum, & frozen blood worms 3 x a day..
p.h 7.6
water temp 84f steady
also i have pool filter sand in both tanks is that ok??

Nice fish Jbones, if the filters keep the water consistently clean then they're good, 84 is ok but is on the warm side which might make them more active and aggressive. I prefer 80-81 degrees myself. If you lower the temp do it over the course of a week or so. Good looking fish, that big boy is beastly. Is that a scrape on his head in the second pic btw? If it is I wouldn't lower the temp till it heals, and if its not healing I would consider adding some aquarium salt.

ya from the filter it will heal in a few days is it ok to keep flowerhorns in a tank with a sand substrate? and what kind of f.h is the smaller one?

and about the black baqck ground is that true i have a black back ground

well i just changed it to the blue side wow it impossiable to get every lil air buble out the black you couldnt tell...

so i have 2 flowerhorns in their own seprate tanks, there health is superb and the color of the two are so diffrent but amazing. I have not really had them in all black environment but did have them in a tank with black gravel for a while, the color is still very bright and glowing, i think that they only get dark if they are stressed, My younger of the two was actually completaly black when i got him home the first time. i was so angry i called the store a got him at and the owner there is really flowerhorn crazy and knows how they behave. He reashured me that the fish was only stressed from the move and will be an amazing fish, and sure enough a month later the fish was brighter and better then he looked in the store. i would love to put some pics of them on here but i dont know really how to do that, if somebody can tell me how to post pics i will put out some really superb pictures of my flowerhorns. email me at Mat420yo@yahoo.com if you want to see them.
