My FH never seems to stop wanting to eat, should I feed him until he stops? I always stop when I think he's had enough even if he looks like he wants more.

IME cichlids never want to stop eating. Even aftet they are full. Its there natural instinct to always be looking for food.
I use blk background, my guys all seem colored, not dark at all. In your opinion will colors improve if i remove the bg, I always thought dark brings out the color how do you think it relates to other SA and CA cichlids, thanks for your input

Your guy looks good. You can try throwing on a blue background to see if he improves or not. That's the only way to tell.
