i have recently picked up a FH and hes in a tank with neutral colored lace rock and light sand but the back of my tank is black and he seems to be getting more color every day i have a couple diffrent types of lights on the tank i dont know if maybe thats helping prevent fading but he seems ok

just wondering if the black background fades all FH's cause i couldnt find anything else about that

Some people might get away with black background with bright colored gravel, decorations, and bright lighting. So if your background is permanently black, you "might"(different for every FHs) get away with colorful environment:)

The black background does not help/make FHs fade! What I stated above is that for those faded FHs, black background/gravel or other dark colored environment is OK.;)

beantickler,

Your JK is fine with the black background. As you can see in my avatar (maybe), my JK is in a tank with light gravel and a black background too. JPlikewhoa noted this as well.

I have a tank with a mirrored back ground... is that not going to work? I might add some natural gravel i guess since its just barebottom right now

a new tip water changes help with hump i havent changed my water in about 2-3 weeks and his hump is going down but when i change it every week it loks like it wants to burst so im guessing water changes are a big TO DO
