We just bought sand for our Frontosa tank. The guy at the petstore told us that there was no need to wash it, that it is very already clean sand. He just said let the sand settle for 3 days before i put my fish back in the tank. Is this true?
Any other help would be great, i tried looking in the search engine for my answer but no help was there.

Probably gonna need to wash it anyway, at the very least it will be dusty. With my black sand, I had to bucket wash it and then do a 50% waterchange after it was in the tank even after washing it.

the guy in the store is a moron, I think. Why do you have to wait 3 days to settle if it is clean? :screwy:

wash it in a bucket, your fish should be fine.

Put some sand in the bucket and spray the hose in it. Mix the sand around with your hand. Once it is fairly clear, put it in the tank. I used a large cup.
