freshwater sand bottom help

edit...the only thing is my pike chiclid is in there too and hes not looking to good. I hope all it is ,is that hes stressed and will get over it.

Absolutly, were actually checking every half hour right now, might be alittle excessive but this is the first time weve done this. im sure we will only check this often for a couple hours then again tomorrow.
Any other tips with the sand that you can give me?

i used pool filter sand. the same day i added the sand, is the same day i added my fish.
clean as good as you can but, make sure you save 25% water and a filter that has BB in it, and you'll be good.

Yes we added some in, i always do when i do a water change so i figure mabey this will try and help him out a bit.
