i hear wes (redtail) typing right now...:(

seriously thou, what size is your frt and what size is your ray? tank size?

not that any of these questions really matter cuz its highly discouraged!

this isnt the best idea but i think michael has a frt in with one or 2 of his rays...if he doesnt anymore i know he did for a while but its very risky...i wish this combo would work without and risks..

I sit here now with my tank cycling, I threw in some feeder roseys for some of the fish I wanted to put in there in the next few days, and my turtles are devouring them like candie. If they do this to my feeders then what do you think they are going to do to the rays?

anyone who loves their rays wouldnt risk it

I have had my FRT in with rays for almost a year now with no probs. The rays that managed to live with the FRT usually seemed to be the healthiest ones believe it or not. i have heard though that at a certain size the FRT will lose its cool. So far no probs for me though. Thanks for the heads up kody

I once had a leo drown a frt. The leo was large the turtle small. The leo would swoop over the frt and hold him down, I had seen this done but never thought it would end that way.....so if you do keep em together just seperate as soon as you see strange behavior to avoid a sad situation.

If I got a buck for every "FRT killed/wounded my ray" story, I'd be a wealthy man right now.

Aside from the fact that FRTs are an omnivorous species that do prey on other animals, they're also a brackish water/high alkaline species. Their preferred water chemistry is the opposite of what FW riverine rays prefer.
