Anyway, did you really expect the petsmart lady to know what she was doing?
I think the general consensus around here is that petsmart is bad. Personally, I don't mind it. If you don't like it, just don't go there.

thank you...i dont mind petsmart either...they dont have to know what they ar edoing as long as you do. not to mention i am sure there are plenty of employees at petsmart that know far more than many of us because i have talked to some on this site.

If petsmart sold only the fish that fit the tank size, they would make no money, and cause a large majority of there customers go somewhere else.

It's a corporation....they only want money...they don't give a sh$t about animals.
That's life, theres nothing we can do about it.

I worked as an Aquatics Manager for those B@st@rds for a very long time. I got to see first hand
what they really care about. Corporations are evil.

This was not about pet smart is bad, never once did I say that, it could be at my LFS or visiting you house and talking to you. I know all people are here to make money geez. This thread was about the employee questioning my tank size, and then suggesting that a big fish can live in a small tank. I would have wrote this same post no matter who said it.

I understand You have not read any of my post about my bala sharks, so i wont critizie you for speaking without understanding what the case is. Also In this post I said bala sharks in a 55 gallon for life, I didn't ask what size grow out tank. I am sure your aware of what a grow out tank is, so I wont belittle you by explaining. nor will I assume you are challenged for thinking 5 some how equals 6.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk; it just bugs me when people make assumptions without understanding what they are making assumptions about.

I also hate that anytime you name the store you’re shopping at, that the thread is about the store. I said in the opening post I don't expect them to know it all, so not sure why people saying thing about it doesn't matter what they know.

I also never said I hate pet smart or don't like it, I have many times said the exact opposite. I just wanted to tell you how it made me angry about them acting like they know about tank sizes, and then say something to the opposite of that. Why is it that it had to be all this dumb replies directed to me?

I never ask questions in Petsmart nor do I take any advice from there employees. When they ask questions like what size tank I have I always respond, "why are you going to buy me a bigger 1". My fiance' says I can be a jerk sometimes.

Isn't that why these sites are around so we don't have to deal with bs, the only lfs that I really respect are the mom and pop that have a general idea on what they're doing. I don't even really bother talking to employees at corporate fish stores.

So a mom and pop store isn't out to make money and wouldn't tell you something wrong to make a sale, please. And once again how does clicking ok on the user agreement make one an expert?

I never said that mom and pop stores aren't out to make money, aren't we all trying to make money. If you research what your doing you really don't have to worry about others giving you wrong information.

As far as the whole user agreement, I never really said that makes everyone here an expert, I was mostly referring to buying fish from online wholesalers. I'm sure they still don't know everything either but generally know a lot, and once again it's normally a good idea to know what your getting into before you buy a new fish any way.
