after seeing your tank I ought to settle for a 24inch dept. opposing the 30" I've searching for.
Very nice setup. I was hoping to find a nice 30 dept tank for an arrowana in the future. but seeing your tank makes me want to settle for a 24" and start growing the mates in. thanks for sharing.

nah, never settle for anything less than what you want! if you want an arowana then go with the 30" you have been looking for, the aro will reach 18" before you can blink and 24" in a matter months after that. I'm struggling with myself not to rescue some aro.. I love them but since I'm limited to this tank atm I don't want the hassle of needing to rehome him/her. the 30" deep tank gives you YEARS extra. I sold my 7x4x2 a while back and therefore I need to stock smart.. nothing that grows fast, nothing to aggressive etc.. haha..
the ONLY thing making my tank special is the plants, don't be afraid to plant, with the right amount of substrate and if you give the plants a chance to root themselves they are hardy as hell! they also help out a great deal with the filtration! after you feed you can almost watch the plants grow as the fish poop..
