haha.. on a serious note, yes, he is nibbling the plants but he doesn't demolish them. he is mostly eating the algea, pellets, nibbling on shrimp etc.. he picks whatever he will get nutrition from, compared to a pellet the plants are pretty low calorie..
thanks for that info all these websites on google need to stop saying they will eat all of your plants

since you're in the states you could probably buy them at a reasonable size
it is "expensive" but looking at what you get and the second hand value on big dats it's absolutely worth it!
Expect that puffer to be eaten, poisoning/killing the one who eats him, which could be most any of the large fish you put him with.
