Mine took 6 months to get to 12''. all it takes is proper looking after. as soon as they can feed them live food. they love it and it helps them grow.

lol, did you get it when it was already 6 months old?
some people on here i guess just have quick growing o's.
mine went from 4"-10" in about 7 or 8 months.
i got her at 4", she was so shy.
i don't really want her anymore though for some reason.
she's a good fish though.

took my "O's" 6 months to grow to 10'' from 2''. power feeding and clean water. did the trick for me.

There is loads of info on it,,http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aquarium/growth.php... its not natural for fish to gorge themselves every day for months (never heard of that)?
