Fully aquatic something for a ten gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think that's what I'll end up doing, a newt with some guppies and (possibly) a betta for some more color and movement...?

you are going to be fully stocked w/o the betta so I think that a newt or two and some guppies or tetras would be sufficient.

I would not mix guppies and bettas with newts, the temps they need are diferent. If you stock with small peacefull tetras you can combo with dwarf african clawed frogs.

Clawed Frogs of ALL TYPES are ILLEGAL to own in Arizona, they are NOT an option for this setup. Thank you for your suggestions

I think I'm going to go with a fire belly newt or two, now I need to figure out a fish that could work with the temps that newts prefer (room-temperature). Guppies wouldn't work for that?

What about hillstream loaches? They like cooler water and stay relatively small, plus they would help with keeping the tank clean...?

I'm pretty sure hillstream loaches need a fast current in their tank via powerhead and no fish helps keep a tank "clean" they all produce waste.
