FUNGUS! what the?

So i put this new piece of wood in my aquarium and two days later it has this crazy white cloudy stuff growing on it. I took it out immediately! My royal pleco was loving it tho. should i treat my tank for fungus or what? this stuff grew so rapidly on this wood. what to do. Do my fish need treated now? im freaking out i have alot of money in this aqaurium right now.

That's 100% normal on new wood. It clears up in no time and isn't harmful.

So I'm safe to put it back in tank? I have tons of drift wood in my tanks but never this type. Is it only this type? I feel alot better now. Thank you.

I've had a few types with this. Just scrub it with a sponge or let the pleco eat it.
