Fuzzy white poop

As seen in another thread my GT from BFD has been having some issues. I see quite a few fuzzy looking white droppings in my pre filters, substrate, and plants. What does this mean? He hasn't eaten since I got him so I guess it could be filter floss coming from my filters but it looks like poop covered in hazy white material.

 
how long have you had him? Tank cycled before he was introduced?
 
Yes tank was cycled. I got him last Friday. All water parameters are good and I've done a water change yesterday. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10ppm nitrate, ph 7.4, temp 73.
 
might want to do another water change and get those nitrates down tho not bad now, looking for them to never get above 20ppm. any other fish in tank?

I agree..,

But do nitrates over 20 matter that much? Ive heard of people saying they have "experimented" with fish in nitrates up to 80 and they dont show any side affects for months.

Personally i think it shouldnt go over 40.

I agree with the rest of what you said tho
 
studies show that nitrate over 23ppm. start to cause internal organ dmg over time. so while fish fine for 3, 4, 5 years it will eventually succumb to the effects.
 
Thinking of hex, and can very well be. new fish, not eating could also just be intestinal lining. I do now every fish i have ever bought that did not eat and pooped either white or just intestinal lining died.
