no, water changes not cure cancer, wish it did, let me try to explane this dif. all of us, you, fish, dogs, frogs, insects have bacteria in our guts, we can not live with out them, they do the heavy digestion. esp through the intestines and colon. just like us, when they poop there plenty of it in it.

bad water quality concentrates it and lowers a fishes immune system. keep the water pristine or close to it, all is well,. do not wash your arse or whipe for a few weeks and see what happens. you get hole in the ass.
