It's not just the length of the fish being able to swim around a tank--it's the mass of the fish & the massive amounts of food = waste involved. The solution to pollution is dilution!
Yeah, Big Fish = Big Waste.

A good choise id the Modestus puffer. A personal favorite!
Yeah, I love those guys! Not too big, either.

Only problem is their teeth need regular trimming.

oh the tank is overfiltered by a big eheim and gets a weekly 20% waterchange.
but yeah im still thinking it over.
theres a really cute picture on the pufferpedia of 3 puffers togehter, i think ceylon.
sorta made me like them the idea of keeping a few together

Filtration does not dilute waste material, it just removes it from the water column.

You mean this fella?

Punkster is the coolest! She doesn't move around much, unless she's hungry. Usually stays burried up to her eyeballs in the sand, so she really doesn't need a large tank.

Heck yeah, sweet looking puffer!

LOL, she's anything but sweet!

i know filteration dosnt just get rid of waste. im dedicated though with weekly waterchanges. im really considering getting rid of the cichlid in there now, what would be the advantages of having a/some puffers instead? ive always loved cichlids u see

It's all about what kind of fish you prefer to keep.
