Correct me if I'm wrong but at this point isn't Paypal requiring a bank account, with Credit Cards being option, on signup? So Paypal knows the bank that this guy is drawing funds to, right? And to get a bank account you actually need to provide legitimate identification, SSN, etc?

Sorry, it has been a while since I started a new bank account so I forgot what I had to go through. But it would seem like in such blatant and far-reaching cases of fraud Paypal ought to be able to get in touch with the bank and the local authorities and track this person/people down. There's always a paper trail. I don't understand why people would even try this because of that.

Even if people don't get their money back it ought to at least be easy to catch and punish them...

Also, I'm in Chicago. I'm large, athletic, ill-tempered, and have lots of time on my hands. I want an address.

It's not about the money... I know the risks of buying online. But this guy needs a beating.

Oh, not sure if this matters to mods and concerns of privacy, etc, but my neighbor is a Chicago police officer. If it's not OK to share info with us but it is with local authorities, I can put you in touch with him.

:iagree: I agree 100%. I'd drop work for a week to go to Florida if I had a lead. I here there are many alligators in FL bro.

When I opened a bank account, there was a SSN involved and a bunch of other stuff. If paypal wanted to, they can get everything back from him and more if everyone who got screwed filed a dispute around the same time period. That is happening right now as we speak.

ha for reals! info is no good. if he's any good at this, which is he prob is, he opened up a temporary bank account to be linked with his paypal. after the funds cleared into the bank, take out the cash, and disappear from the interwebz for a while.

not that hard really. something told me things would end up like this. thank god for Amex :headbang2

I know this is 10 pages back, but he did have a mistake because mgamer still has the record from awhile back about him using the don_pendleton email address or w/e it was but he just used that same email address for another fish forum.

Maybe we should not let members sell until they have 500 posts, or have been active for a year....Just a thought...Sorry to all of you guys.

The talk of violence is not even slightly necessary though :(

we should have a system which shows our transactions between other mfkers with comments so we can build up reputation and trust. I'm sure this isnt the first time its been brought up, but it works for so many other sites.

But a scammer who comes here and sells stuff under different circumstances won't have any.

I would avoid people selling things for people next time.

Surprised he joined MFK in 2007...just waited for the right time?

I dont think this is a kid. Hes prob much older and has been doing this for years. as for craping his pants wile reading this I dont think so. hes more than likely laughing about this. If I did the calulations right so far hes taken about $1,500 from you guys just on this site alone say hes on 5 other sites and takes the same amount thats a total of $7,500. If this person is ever arrested they are looking at 5 to 10 years for fraud.

Side note: sticky if you need an alibi you were up here fishing with me.;)
