I have no doubt about that... those were two really tough pictures! I went with two Atractosteus species but I really wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong on both. My main two issues with IDing gar are YOY specimens 5" and under and I still have some issues with FL/Spotted sometimes. I hope these quizzes will help me overcome those issues.

they are hard pics...i know i am not getting both right...
Hmm, its a hard call on that first pic, but looking through the ID's, and from having raised seven shorties from yoy, I just feel like that looks more like a shorty. I could be wrong though .

i'll leave it to solomon to post the answers when he deems fit. although i more or less had the same reasons for the ID's and he's gone thru it with me, he'd probably do a much much better job at elaborating them to everyone.
