I did but from time to time I have to take it out it's a 17" gator gar he needs more than 3-4 feet to swim in eventually plus he knocks it down too somtimes.

I hope the ray pulls through but if it doesnt make it then i DEMAND not getting another ray until the gar is gone 4ever
the wound on the bottom of his disk is pretty bad, just gave him a salt bath and turned up the temp in the tank. I need to find a buyer for this gar ASAP
i HOPE you predissolved the salt instead of just putting it directly in the tank.... the salt can burn the ray....

let me get this right.... u dissolved salt in a 5gal bucket of water and then put the ray in the bucket??? If thats what u did, you def. shouldnt have done that.... just stressing the ray out even more.. just turn ur lights off in the tank
lights have not been on in a few days. I have read numerous threads of people giving rays salt baths for short periods of times to reduce stress after a situation like this and I noticed the ray breathing slower now and calming down.
you have read one person doing this, not numerous people just the same one 3 times. no reason to salt bath a ray from that injury. the main reason he did that was for possible parasites and internal things. something that might fix one thing wont fix them all.

take the gar out and throw him in the dumpster he dosent need to swim at all or throw him in a bucket and take it to a lfs and if they dont take it leave it by the door. i dont really care what you do with the gar as long as you dont release it in the wild or keep it with the ray. you really should research your animals before just buying them and if you do buy them make sure you have the room to seperate them.
you were given lots of good advice but chose not to listen. im very disapointed in you jeremy and not happy with what im reading. people like you make me want to give advice less and less. if your not going to listen why bother.
