That link doesn't work? How cool are we talking and what time span?....
I think the tail on my fish is too rounded tbh, the gymnogeophagus has a more forked tail no?

In winter I would keep my Gymnogeophagus and Australoheros in unheated tanks that dropped into the low 60sF (mid teens Celsius). I believe a drop into the high 60sF is sufficient.
Some, that had been in a pond were put in a kiddy pool in an unheated basement where temps dropped into the high 40sF (less the 10'C)

My over wintering pools were in the basement, on a concrete floor, and got really cold (under 50) Jan thru March, as you can see they also held koi and goldfish, and i didn't feed the fish at all during this period, except on exceptionally warm days.

The cichlids were Gymnogeophagus, Australoheros, and wild caught Crenicichla saxitillus (location Uruguay)

Looks very similar to this.... As stated by the previous owner.

Your fish is not G. rhabdotus. It lacks the red edges on the caudal fin and also contains pearling in the caudal and dorsal fins (hence the common name “pearl cichlid” for brasiliensis) while G. rhabdotus has stripes in the dorsal.
