Brasiliensis tends to be completely different to your altifrons type geo.I believe they will soon be reclassified, they tend to have a more typical cichlasoma type attitude. They will fair better on their own than other geophagus might.

tell me about it, my pair of G.brasiliensis reminds me more of a GT than anything

If you have a good eye for cichlids, misnamed fish can work in your favour and you can snap up a bargain.
I once bought satanoperca pappaterra labeled as jurupari. They cost me around £5.00 each.
Specialist sellers would normally charge a lot more than that for pappaterra.
Ignorance can be bliss.
True lol. Lots of the stores near me seem to label everything as a Texas or a Jaguar (ive seen Mayans as Jags?) and those are cheap fish so i can get some nice, rarer fish for a bargain.

Im no help with Eartheaters though...

you sure you didn't mean Jaguar = Aztec Cichlid?

never heard of that, but I have heard of Jags called Aztecs on various occasions
Ive never seen them called that but ive read that its one of their nicknames...

Yeah Mayans and Jags are way different... Still confuses me how people can call a fish something when it is so obviously different.
