Brasiliensis tends to be completely different to your altifrons type geo.I believe they will soon be reclassified, they tend to have a more typical cichlasoma type attitude. They will fair better on their own than other geophagus might.

True lol. Lots of the stores near me seem to label everything as a Texas or a Jaguar (ive seen Mayans as Jags?) and those are cheap fish so i can get some nice, rarer fish for a bargain.If you have a good eye for cichlids, misnamed fish can work in your favour and you can snap up a bargain.
I once bought satanoperca pappaterra labeled as jurupari. They cost me around £5.00 each.
Specialist sellers would normally charge a lot more than that for pappaterra.

Yeah Mayans and Jags are way different... Still confuses me how people can call a fish something when it is so obviously different.
