Get your licenses first, fish second...

My application has been denied. And rightfully so.

The FWC was extremely nice to issue me just a warning for all the violations (they go by fish species) except one.

For the African tigerfish I have received a citation, on the insistence of Tallahassee and despite all the efforts of the investigating officer local to me, who was advising them to just give me the warnings.

The breaking of this particular Florida Administrative Code (possession of prohibited freshwater fish species without a permit) is punished by either a fine of up to $500 or a 60 day incarceration.

Will be up to the judge.

I am told that on 1st offence without other aggravating circumstances one most usually receives a small fine, like $100 plus court proceedings fees, altogether ~$350.

Court date is Oct 2. If I disappear for a couple of months, you all will know why.
That’s crazy. Hopefully it’s just a fine not 2 months in the slammer.

Now who’s the OG, serving time for his atf’s. You should get a tattoo, maybe an rtc across your neck. atf 4 life on your knuckles.

So sorry to hear that Viktor, but kind of expected. I'm sure it came as no real surprise to you either. Good luck amigo, hopefully the judge goes easy on you with just a small fine.

Not a huge surprise but a surprise nevertheless. I guess I was too naive or stupid, you name it. Probably both.

First, I thought they'd go easy on me because the spirit of the law is to protect the environment, which has not been endangered by me because I built everything to the FWC specs (after the first FWC inspection I had way back in 2013) with the wet-dry sand bed filter and all. Even hurricane Irma wasn't a threat because of how securely I built everything. Haven't lost a single structural member of the two fish pavilions.

Second, I thought FWC wouldn't have the workforce and resource to study social media for my presence but they have, oh how they have!

Sorry to hear...hopefully you can appeal and get a license in the future

I am at fault. I've made deals with my conscience enough. Don't want to do it anymore. Why waste my time and money and theirs against what conscience tells me?

I have resubmitted another CPN (Conditional, Prohibited, Nonnative) application today, as a matter of fact. FWC told me I could do it anytime. So I have.

I feel sorry for your efforts and loss but did you not think to move on the said killed fish before applying for a liecence?

Thanks Dazza. See above.
