Man he sure does grow fast for a dat.Must be the massivore he gets in vast quantitys. I have found that a massivore,sinking cichlid gold,non threating tankmates and lots of space really help for growth and personality development. He breaks all the stereotypes i here about datnoids. He is always sable and bold, so dang bold he tries to flare up at and stand off with my dog when he looks at the tank its quite hilarious. He chases my finger like a cichlid.
Digging i! I always wanted my tank bare bottom but the black sand in yours is really making me reconsider!
Yea the sand really makes the fish pop. The key I use is keeping the layer thin enough so that it does not create dead spots, but just thick enough for it to still look fully covered on the bottom.
