Human arrogance. An octopus is definitely smarter than some of the retards out there. A mimic octopus can make itself look like dozens of different sea creatures. If that doesn't demonstrate vast intelligence to you, then you are a flawed individual.

You're joking right? Instinct does not equal intelligence. Birds can fly, does that mean they are more intelligent then humans because it took us thousands of years to create a vehicle for flight? Not sure who is flawed here...

Im actually going on 8 days now! Set up is still the 5 gallon bucket with rocks I collected from the sound with an in tank filter (mainly for water movement/gas exchange) and daily 100% water changes.

I guess saying they are more intelligent than some humans was drastic, I was just try to prove my point. That they are far more than "gloried snails". They are very intelligent creatures and just wanted you to give them the respect they deserve instead of not caring at all about its life.

Damn, I didn't know anyone was up here in the Panhandle on MFK besides me. :P

If you need a 10 gallon to put him in I know it's not much more than what he's currently in but I have 2 extras with black back. I'd be willing to part with one for a 12 pack. ;)

Im in Navarre, work in FWB. I appreciate the offer but Im going to try and get something a bit bigger. Do you have a SW tank currently set up? Some used filter media sure would help.

And have shown quite a cavalier attitude towards the value of its life. Put it in a tank with stable parameters. Already been said.

Negative. Sorry. I don't do SW. BUT, if you're looking for a good priced used tank some dude on craigslist in Mary Esther is selling a 55g w/ stand and some other crap for 75$ which is a pretty good deal since it comes w/ the stand, lids, etc.

How Big will said octopus grow?

Here a great thread on someone who kept an octopus. Perhaps you can learn from a few of their mistakes. Lots of useful information and is worth the read. Good luck!
