That sounds awesome. Be sure to snap some pics to show us. I am very happy for you. :)

I'll try to get some pics with my terrible camera phone once they color up, or see if my mother in law will let me borrow her digital camera. She is interested in seeing what an endangered fish looks like...LOL

Thanks Tydus...when I start having fry I'll be sure to remember you guys...

that will be good, then we can all trade fry for extra diversity :D

Hi, good to see someone getting into the Africans. I myself have yellow labs, Nimbochromis livingstoni and Linni, Hap. Obliquidens, P. Acei, Jewels, A.Jacobfreibergi "Eurika", all in a 200 Litre with 4 Bristlenose, and 1 P.Leaopardus (Fancy Pleco). At one point I had a 3 foot with 5 breeding pairs all on the go, I wanted them to stop breeding so I added 6 Frontosa Juviniles (4.5") my point is with excellent filtration you can get away with cramming the fish in. So don't be afraid to mix em up.

Oh and dont worry about food, feed a 50 50 mix of spirulina and omnivourus cichlid food and everyone will be happy. Rusty's will take normal flake with no ill effect.

first all post who your got yours from so we can mix lines too... You all can post in the flame back thread where from... if from auction put the name of that owner, often you can call them and find where they got them... This way we can track the line?

You're welcome. :) That's how my sisters and mom are too, so don't worry. LOL.

Wow, you really cleaned up !! Great that you got the flamebacks. How big does a flameback get as a adult and how are they compared to haps and peacocks for aggression etc.. Thanks for letting me ask a question in your thread.

Kyoga flamebacks will get up to 6" and are very peaceful when it comes to vics. Compared to peacocks and haps I think they can mix well with eachother as long as the extremes are avoided.

One funny thing with mine, they were super stressed, and not knowing how long they'd been bagged, we rushed home to get them in the tank. I didn't take the time to move out my little tetras (golds and Harlequins), figured the Flamebacks would be too stressed to mess with them...they immediately started chasing the little fish! I grabbed a net and started scooping the tetras, and moved them to another tank...but the chasing instinct was awesome!! They found a ghost shrimp in the tank and made short work of that, and ate fairly quickly after being in the tank (again, I didn't know how long it had been for them). So except for the colors, they seem pretty OK.

That's good to hear, they seem to be very active already. Snap some pics up. :D
