lol who knows what they are, you will find out when they get larger, what i do know is those tetras are bait

 i was thinking the same thing lol

lol... I know the rasboras are going to eventually be eaten. When the time comes, if I can save some I will, but they are just filler fish. They keep the tank active when I'm not growing something out. I know ID can be difficultwith juvies, but I thought I'd post pics anyways.

Borrowed a camera.

Pictures were still hard to get. They are very active and more yellow then the pics show. The spangling in the soft dorsal still doesn't show great.

Im still gonna say mono..

whatever they are, they're looking good.

Ok now were talking those are GREAT PICS. I say Mono as well now that I can see them better. I truley respect you a lot CrystalizedHairs. I have respected all your input in the Creni section very much and Love your Xingu pair. Or else I would have said the same speech give it more time there way to small. But all that being said I say Mono. Let us know how the progress goes. And keep the temp up 87+. But in all seriousness the could turn out to be something real special with the disaperaring line in the middle stripe they could end up two spot Mono's. But as with Crencichla sometimes you just have to be happy you got a pike or in this case Cichla until it get's more identyfiable marking's if that makes sense? But we do have some expert's  out around here that can id any cichla 100% at any size :grinno: and I DO NOT PRETEND to be that skilled.

But Officially again Welocme to the Sickness, and I bet you end up with at least two more. The requirment's are pretty much the same as Creni as far as WC just bigger amounts as the Cichla grow. I know you know what your doing so just ask question's if something seem's a miss. ;)

Man those picture are hard to tell what they are! If I had to say the look Orinoish but with out CLEAR pics we can't really Id them. Keep trying to get a better pic. There tail line looks to thin to be Mono's. And there tail lower bottom fin would be a more intense red imo...

:iagree:
hard to tell with those pics.
we'll ID them when theyre bigger.
but, they do look orinoish to me.

Well, thanks for the complements. Much appreciated. Having known we ordered them, I had been sneeking around the forum at juvie ID threads, and quickly realized 100% ID was difficult. Thought I'd throw out a line anyways. I'll keep the pics coming as they grow.

Yeh its hard to id when you first get into cichla, but you get better with time. I cant wait to see update pics of your cichla once they start growing..
