Giant Bettas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah that does look like a cross between the two. Either that or it's still a baby and the fins aren't grown in all the way and it's just a crowntail.

Re: Marine Betta Perch fish.....Yeah, they are cool. They go head first into a cave when threatened and they look like an eel with its head sticking out.

Hey do yo know what this type of betta is called and if you stock them or know how to get them. I think I saw this on aquabid but i didn't bid and have been regretting it all this time.

I really interested in getting this type, it looks like a mixture of a crowtail and Plakat betta..............let me know.

Yeah I can get ahold of some just awesome crowntails, I will be myself all set up in october but for the better ones I warn it gets expensive so its all about how into bettas you are and how much you wanna drop. Keep in mind that these will be show winners!

ikhan - what's the best temperature for a betta?

Best temp is from oh..say..75-84 for a betta. They are super adaptable so, they can adapt to lower temps, but you will have a more active betta at around 80 plus degrees. I think a happy healthy medium is 80 to 82 degrees.

Shipping to the UK is a challenge so you all know or those that already do. You'll need a 'Transhipper' just to get by customs on that end. UK doesnt mess around with importation of livestock, they kept my dog in quarinteen for 3 months. Just a heads up on the paperwork a perspective exporter is looking at. Probably looking at around $40-$60 shipping cost when its all said and done but priceless if you get that all special fish. And Ikhan is so coye* about his suppliers.lol We'er all addicted to ginormous bettas now.lol

and freshwater Bettas http://www.itis.usda.gov/servlet/SingleRpt/SingleRpt?search_topic=TSN&search_value=172611 both belong to the order Perciformes (Perch) which explains the resemblance. Unfortunately, beyond that they are not related at all. It would be very cool if they could breed together. I supposed the offspring would have to be kept in brackish water.

WE MUST attempt this :evil hand rubbing: Mu hahahaha!
