Iwagumi is a an arrangement of stones really... and it it used in planted tanks... what I was suggesting is that you use the arrangement with your pieces of wood... sort of in a triangle... no need to add any plants... :)

And, we'll leave the background out for now :) I like the way your tank looks without it.

I was familiar with the concept, never seen it done without plants though thats all:)

I'll print off your post about not applying a black ground and frame it;) first time for everything:ROFL:

Honestly, it's great that we've finally managed to get you to use substrate. :) Getting the black background would have been ideal but that would have been pushing our luck maybe... ;)

But if you are really willing... :)

Master Tequila moaning again well I had it so it's no trouble putting it back in, we do get on btw, just not in public, well most times;)

News Flash: I've just started looking for quotes for a glass tank measuring 4 x 3 x 2 feet... :) It should replace the small 3 x 2 x 2 feet tank (which I might convert into a sump*). I will also have to get a sturdier stand.

I'm planning to use Pool Filter Sand as substrate in that tank which should temporarily house the pacu (that's when the 2 RTGGs would hopefully be moved to the 5 footer).

Other decor items to be used would be a few rocks... no background (will use the white wall that's behind) ;)

Estimated completion of project: End of July 2008.

* I will have to check the DIY section for ways to build that...

That's true, I should create a new thread :) once the project starts...

As in regards to my GGs (whatever they might be ;)), I've had to remove all the wood as it seems that these had sharp edges that was making things worse for them (not to mention the channa who also injured a fin). While I was at it, I replaced the background by a black one and replaced the gravel by pool filter sand...

The GGs look better now... more active and eating well... here are a few pictures (the last one being the bag of sand I used)... you can easily see the deformed jaw...
