I was trying to explain the scum build up in relation to the lights but trying to convert various time zones did me in after a long day:confused: so I gave up;)
What's so hard about a 24 hour clock?

Dude then just say that your lights are one for: 5, 8, 12 or 18 hours a day why would anyone other than yourself need to know what times of the day your lights are on. Or what the relationship between the time there on and someone elses time is in another country. Sorry but I am truly failing to see the point in all this.

Plus the light green color/colour you've choosen for your type is killing my eyes. Please try to stick to the color schem known as: Lou Blue:ROFL:it seems to work for all background settings.;)

Lou Blue! :grinno:

Bacterial bloom in tank... water cloudy instead of the usual crystal clear... guess I have really been feeding too much lately... and the new RTGG must have induced a mini-cycle... will starve the beasts for 2-3 days, do a 60% water change and wait for another day before feeding... that should do the trick.

Dumping food in by the truck loads, or you need a better filter;). Try feeding the RTGG more veggies, I'm sure her previous keeper didn't feed her enough if any at all.

How about a nice Yanbbrox orange?

Forget the hours things, I'd spent ages working them out for something else just before that post and mind just kept trying to convert.:irked:
Sorry for the odd post

What are you feeding them? With a pacu of that size in the same tank then there must be one hell of a lot of food going in to start a mini cycle.
As master Tequila says go for more veggies, any will do:grinno:

Tank of George update, Mrs Y decided to set up some sort of elaborate mirror setup to watch the tank after feeding to see if he is eating(I swear this new late shift of mine is sending her slowly insane:screwy:) and guess what, wolfing down the food when no one is looking:screwy: As I'm mainly at work when the lights are on I'm relaying the none feeding from reports received:irked:

So that's the good news, I'm now told that the dollar tank mate is having swim bladder problems and George has decided to seize the day and try to finish it off. Solution, pour halve a trade pack of myxazin over the carpet:cry::cry: 'Didn't want to ring in case I was driving'

I'm so glad I'm not working tomorrow:cool:

Dude you really gotta stop putting so much energy into your fish, if I worked on my tank like you do yours, I would convert the tank into a terrarium and fill it with either Phelsumas or Uroplatus and call it a day.

How am I putting to much energy into the tank?, I haven't touched it for 3 days, not even to feed. Plus all the he's eating not eating texts get me through the evening, it beats the crap out of staring at a wall for 12 hours at work;) It's also stopping Mrs Y from going completely insane;)

How's the orange for everyone?

Whatever use whatever color/colour you want, as for me, I need to start thinking about a vacation I'm getting really bored. Anyone seriously interested in these pain in the butt RTGG's. 300 1~2 inch fish and a auto fish feeder and I could go away for a month without worrying that someone didn't follow simple instructions.

I love Yanbbrox Orange! :D Please stick to it - make it your own. :)

Tequila brother, it must be the food... I must have been feeding too much. Starved the fish for one day and the tank is already a bit clearer. The filters (I run two canisters) are fine - though I need to increase the bioballs (or Aquaclay) in them to optimise bio-filtration.
