I now have moved my giant gourami in his own 360 gallons tank. It's an 8x3x2 with a 120 gallons sump. I have put in him a few Asian fish: tinfoil barbs, denisonii barbs, clown loaches, tiger loaches and a dwarf gourami. Any more suggestions on other small Asian fish I can keep with him? The tank has a pool filter sand substrate with a few driftwood and scattered rocks. Minimalist as it is.

It's not easy to tell when they're so young. I bought my RTGG when she was 3". Very drab looking like yours but now she's 16" and her red coloration on her fins is amazing, a true RTGG she is. I've seen RTGG that stay drab all their lives, you'll know for sure as it gets bigger....and you won't have to wait long for that!

My girl changes color like a chameleon lately.

I need to maybe change her diet and possibly add a background to the tank. But she likes watching the parrots from one side of the tank and the dog from the other. She's a happy social "little" thing. haha
