BTW, I called one LFS this morning and I was told that they have (finally) received some giant gouramis. It's the golden variety - which, I believe, must be the xanthic or leucistic one. Thing is, they sell only pairs (i.e. in twos - not necessarily a male and a female).

Snap 'em up Lou... then we can change the thread title to 'Watch our gourami's grow' ;)

Tank size is 9 foot x 30" x 30" and Tank mates are some Madagascan Cichlids, Tinfoil Barbs and a giraffe catfish. I have found that frozen grapes are also a big winner.

Here is the beast herself.

Very nice, what size is your monster?

Love the fresh water octopus at the bottom left of picture one:ROFL:
Sorry it's been a long day ;)

This thread has been busy, today i gave mine another lettue leaf and she and my big veja ate in about 30secs.

Lettuce, bananas and cheese and Georges favorites, he gets lettuce a lot as it's cheap. He can go through a leaf in a few minutes as well.
We lost another dollar today for no reason in his tank, George never picked on that one at all but came home and it was dead.

Just George, the kissing gourami who has always been a bit of a suck up in my opinion, Large plec, baby plec and the dollar that will never die left. I hope he finishes his growth spurt soon so the dollar can get some peace, it also enjoys the lettuce when it gets a chance

Btw did you notice the few more years experience I've gained, crappy videos at there best ;)

Indeed I need a bigger tank! I always need a bigger tank! My 5x2x2 seems so small now... yet it's all I can afford. A larger one would be too heavy for the floor... wish I could get a 10x3x3...

I gave my big RTGG a lettue leaf (romain as they have the most nutrients) and he ate it all in about 2mins. I always have about 5 full lettueaes in me at all times as my 4 big tortiose and Bearded Dragon eat them.

Yeah maybe the way too go is Koi pellets.

I really starting to wish I could just take my RTGG down to Florida and drop them in the pool along with some water lettace & hydrillia, along with the Florida sun, and Bingo instant eco system with constant free food source.

i use koi pellets..good stuff..

my RTGG and Pink GG will take anything i drop in the tank..lettuce, carrot, apple, grapes, small tomato, banana, strawberries, market shrimp, cichlid pellets, koi pellets, tilapia fillet..PIGS!

the shrimp and pellets are the staple, fruits and veggies are fed once or twice a week.

RTGG is already 16"..but i've had the pink on this diet since it was 4 inches..in 5 months it's now 10.5", growing super fast
