Our Red Bellied Pacu named "Paku" needs a new home. Wow in only 6 months he has gone from a cute little $4.00 Walmart Fish to an amaszing graceful giant, now at about a foot and 3 inches in length. He has been in raised in chemically treated water so he cannot be eaten! Nor do I want him (or is it a her?) eaten, and its sad I never knew it would get so big so quick. Seriouisly someone should outlaw the sale of these fish in Texas, cause people already put them in the river, and thats wrong too. SO please someone with a huge display tank offer to give this very friendly fish a forever home, instead of it becoming another poor victim of Walmart's ruthless ways.
Paku has outgrown the tank and I'm at a loss, please help. Great fish, lets you pet it during water changes too. 512-644-8385

What fish is that you're eating, Central Mayhem? LOL

I say you have to eat it considering you didn't do your own research before buying it. Heard they are great with cajun mix. Great first post. Welcome. Don't expect to see you much after this.........

What's sad is that YOU didn't research the fish before making an impulse buy @ Wallyworld. Don't blame the retailer, there are plenty of local fish stores that sell pacus.

How about you guys LAY OFF a bit. AT LEAST they are trying to find a home for it.

Chances are that they are first time fish keepers BUT they are certainly new to the forum.

That's a great way to treat new members trying to do the responsible thing.

We've all made mistakes in our fish selection somewhere along the way.

Chill out ladies...

:iagree::iagree::iagree::iagree:

There are many people on the boards that are guilty of purchasing fish that outgrow their tanks. How come I don't see anyone bashing people that keep RTCs and TSNs or even Arapaimas? Why is it because these fish are cooler than the ever so common pacu?

Lay off guys instead of chimming in to post your nasty comments why not try to help find it a home.

I can respect them for trying to do the right thing.

Chill guys.. truth is pacu's really probably shouldn't be sold without a permit, as well as some other species.. GL finding it a home! Has great color on it still btw..
