I usually am a very positive person, but this is a very nasty bunch of people on this site. I was led to this site to buy fish that were not for sale, and now I see how people who are not perfect (as none of you are) that make a simple mistake get hammered like this site. I have 11 aquariums and over 100 fish. I have made mistakes and learned from them.( A mistake learned from is a mistake, if nothing learned it was a stupid mistake) I think he admitted his mistake. I will be leaving this site and most likely will not return. I would be a fool to ask some of you questions, because I am no genius either. I am so sorry about the ordeal with your pacu, and wish you well. I no longer live in Texas, or I would come get him. God Bless you for your concern for your fishes well being. I lost fish and had to get rid of fish because of mistakes come on people let him up... Eat a pet fish the ones with the comments about eating and condiments, you should not have fish.. That's all I have to say about that, A quote from someone with a higher IQ than some of you. Forest Gump!!!

cichlidhopper....There are always a few people who act immature and do not have feelings towards anyone but themselves.. i am here to say that just because these few took avantage of a plea for rescue for this pacu and decided it was more fun to hurt someones feelings .... most people on MFK are not anything like this ...,most are very experienced capable monster fish keepers who are responcible and understanding..Don't let these few chase you away..believe me we need your kind.......... and best of luck to getting your pacu a good home.. don't abandon the ship ..there are plenty of people who would absolutely love that fish..i would be one of them but i am too far away but there are many others ..you just have to give them a chance to see the pacu......and ignore these negative comments.

We know what you're saying... But just because somebody is sorry they made the mistake doesn't make it better... You wouldn't believe how many people treat their pets like **** in southern california... There's more fish keepers here then anywhere else, which also means there's more mistreated fish here then anywhere else...

After awhile being sorry isn't good enough. THIS is why some people ripped on the OP, it wasn't just to him, it will be to anybody that makes this mistake.

Personally, its easier for me to just not care at all, lol. I don't get riled up by mistreated animals anymore, the most I can muster is "oh".

You should never become immune to animal mistreatment... you may realize it happens and be an avocate for them.. simply following in their footsteps and accepting it as oh is not going to make the difference... you should always believe in what you believe in no matter what! You must be you.. and if you think something is wrong it should be important enough to you to remain wrong..you may not be able to do anything about it..but you do not and should not accept it. This is how you become who you are and how you feel about yourself.. you can not change the world or change people who are what they are but you can take a different approach and not follow them. I have animals and i try my best to treat them well and i respect that they deserve this..i do not care how others feel.. and each person who does care for them correctly is one less of those others.. and yes people do make mistakes..i have made many myself..good intentions does not always make you right..it is always a learning process.. but learn from it.

Sorry about the triple posts..MFK is slow for me today and i thought it was not going..rrrrrr! One more i would like to add..this pacu was well taken care of..looks awesome and very healthy.. that says so much to me..this person gave this pacu great care and considers his pacu a pet and worthy enough to find it a good home.. and definitly did not deserve this kind of response..

Trust me, I know what you're saying... And as cruel as it REALLY sounds (Trust me, i know it sounds bad) its just easier to stop caring... All I will do from now on is take care of the animals I have, i've helped the unwanted dogs and kitties and saved fish from the LFS far too much, I just cant do it anymore... And when it gets to that point, you just feel bad, and id rather be indifferent then feel bad.

well Rakie instead of letting it make you feel bad ..turn it around and see all the positive impact that you had on some of the animals lives you changed for the better.... do not dispair because of a few ..believe me they are only a few next to the amount of good caring people there are..most animals are in great loving homes..millions of dollars are spent on animals care and welfare.. and many people even those who really cannot afford it are spending money on their pets to give them a healthy better life.. we may not be as aware of them because they do not need to write about it .. the only ones you notice sometimes are the ones trying to get your attention on their mistreatment.. with shock affects etc.. i am afraid those types treat everything bad ..even themselves .. so be proud of what you did .. and don't give up and feel your part has had no impact..there is a happy animal that would beg the differ and is forever grateful..

You both make some good points about animal welfare concerns. However I do agree that a fish-keeping newbie trying to find a home for their poorly researched fish like this is not the place for strong open criticism.

I find it particularly negative to do this to a newbie, as their response may simply be to leave the board, therefore solving nothing.

This was my only reason for responding..and i hope both newbies will stick with us.. i wanted to let them know there are alot of good people on MFK who welcome them with open arms..
