Dont be such jack asses guys. First off; fish are fish. If you are against SH's as feeders why wouldnt you be against goldfish as feeders? You know that goldfish are some peoples favorite fish as well dont you? I dont think its right either though this is not up to me and I have to live with it.

Some say this is 'nature' though what some need to realize is when we keep a fish in an aquarium we go against nature. In 'nature' the fry would be able to get away or atleast have a chance of escaping predators. We throw them in an aquarium with no escape, thats not nature ;)

Im not sure which side im on, but this isnt up to me....

I agree with Rocky Survival of the fittest. Ive used numerous fish as feeders, from comets, to Siamese fighting fish. In the wild fish eat whatever they can fit into there mouths, wether it be a smaller fish or some other Animal.

well i hope that guy is a veggie, i mean, who says we should cultivate chickens and cows for us to eat, why noy snakemeat and bears.
I personally would only feed feeders if the fish needed it, but even then its only because i wouldnt want to run the risk of parasites from feeder fish (tho apparently we cant have feeders in the uk?!?!?)

also the rice paddy fields in asia give off almost the same amount of methane gases as that of the termites.

also if i ate loads and loads of feeder snakeheads, would it be as good for me if i just ate one adult?

Look using fish you can breed at home as feeders is not a bad idea...living in Toronto where my channa bleheri are illegal, i wont be able to sell the fry of these fish to any LFS so since i feed my datnoid and cichlid pike feeders it would be healthier, more economically efficient as well as morally good when it comes to the impact these things can have on the ecosystem if i were to release them...Whatever i choose not to keep or give to friends will be used as feeder fish, it sounds bad yes but it's a hell of alot smarter to feed healthy fish to your expensive fish then feeders that carry all kinds of bad illnesses

It all comes done to availability, here this S. manueli would be a prized and expensive fishkeepers dream. In Brazil and Venezuela it would be a cheap lunch.

Feeder Fish are just fish. ANY Fish is a Feeder Fish. I like Jaguar Cichlids and I've heard of people here using them as feeders. I don't get upset. The fact is...Snakeheads are prolific and aggressive predators. That's why they're illegal, because they will (and have) damage the eco system. Do I want a Snakehead? Hell Yeah! They're Awsome! But I can't really get one. So am I offended that someone uses them as feeders? Hell No! I know that they're in abundance in Thailand. Why not use them as feeders? Like some of you guys has said, "What makes using a Snakehead as a feeders differ from using Goldfish as feeders?" And if it comes to feeding live food...wean them off a live food to pellets!
