I have had lots of experience with both. I have worked on research regarding ally snappers and have caught some 100lbs behemoths (they don't grow to be much more than 150lbs in the wild). I have been bit by a captive 130lb ally snapper, and I routinely catch 20+lbs common (Florida) snappers. I have no problem with commercial farming of these animals but studies are showing that hunting/trapping these animals is not sustainable.
