He is obviously using his knee to help him hold up the fish in the first picture. No fake. Look at his face too.. he's like "HURRY UP AND TAKE THE FRIGGIN PICTURE"

His arms aren't extended outwards. They're fully down parallel to his body. I thought it was a fake pic too, but then I saw the size of his hand next to the fin.

Exactly. The way you tell a Roland MArtin pose from a true big fish is to look at the anglers hands. If its a Roland pose, the angerls hand will appear much larger compared to his body. In this instance it isnt, and that fish is a real MONSTER! It must of spelled so bad too! Gross!

I believe they get that big. But pic is very shady.. Fish appears way far away from him, it sits upright, where's his left hand, etc..

I'll be honest. It looks like he was holding a smaller fish, someone found a pic of this one resized it to look big and cropped it onto him.

this fish was only 81 lbs. - and i dont think he's getting that fish in front of him.....even with a knee. show me one REAL picture of someone holding even a 75+ lb. salmon up horizontally in front of them and i might believe that first picture.
:shakehead:bs:I'll bet the farm that spawned out Chinook buck in the above picture isn't even 50 lbs...

I have fished the Pacific Northwest way to long to know that fish is approx 30-35 lbs...A 50 lb class Chinook/King Salmon has shoulders and is taller from the dosal to the pectoral fins.

My biggest hook and line Chinook Salmon was 52lbs 4 oz...pre-spawn, Hen
I'm 6' and with "both" hands in the gill plate, holding the fish to my chest, the 12.5" wide tail was still on the ground. The width from right to left was 10" at the widest point...
They have numurous 100 lbs Chinooks stuffed on the wall of every tavern in Ak. and they are HUGE...

One possible explaination:

The guy holding the fish himself is huge like Hagrid from Harry Potter.
