I just picked up a new aro today, and I am pretty sure it has pretty bad gill curl. I will post pics up later as it is still being dripped in. I am pretty sure it got it from bad water and no current in the tank. My questions are:

Is there anything I can do to the tank besides keep it clean, and have a lot of flow? (I already have this)

How long should I wait before deciding to due surgery? I would like to keep this a last resort if possible.

I wouldnt do surgery, but there is meds for this I think. Im not an Aro expert or a gill curl expert, but I would say something like surgery should be a LAST resort.

gill curl is supposed to come from too high a nutrient load ( dirty water) and lack of oxygen so if you have clean water and air then your doing what you can to stop it getting any worse.

there was a whole topic on how to treat gill curl. will try to find.

I am currently in the same boat wrestler. If anyone can help us, that would be awesome.

i used this method for curing my silver's gill curl. it does work.
