X24;2009316; said:I wasn't saying it was exactly the same, its just very similar. People wanted to explain why ships didn't come back, and they say "i bet the world is flat". People want to explain why its getting 1-2 degrees hotter over the 150 years that they have kept track of temperatures. Its not global warming. Also people, we are talking about Global Warming not as its broken down in simplest form which is the earth getting warmer, we are talking about the man made effect that is causing it, which i personally believe is complete BS.
The sun actually will get hotter and cooler over decades, and i believe between the sun burning a little hotter, normal temperature fluctuation and some other natural things for a planet to do are the reasons behind the Earth getting on average around 1-2 degrees warmer over the past 2 centuries.
I don't see how you can look at all of these factors and simply think "Al Gore was right". You guys are chasing after a Manbearpig and I'll give you a hint, you aren't going to find one anytime soon.

hamato_yoshii;2010329; said:I find it interesting that the people who agree with man made global warming, seem to have to start their posts with, "there is no doubt this is true" or "only a &*%^* would think it's false" or something like that. I'm trying to figure out what the motive in this is. There is obviously a debate on what the origin is, so is the point to try and "talk" really loud to intimidate, or is it that you have completley put a wall up around yourselves and are not acceptting any other viewpoints? If you believe in something shouldn't it be ok to welcome differing viewpoints, and be open to the possibility that you may not have all the answers?
