i dont think anybody would give me a problem about keeping fish and keeping them alive, especially freshwater fish. i will look into the permit just incase tho, thanks for the heads up. any actuall spots tho guys?? specific lakes or rivers?? what to catch them on and so on??? any info appreciated

I doubt anyone that has productive peacock spots would just give them away to a stranger, nevertheless on a public forum where everyone can see. Why? Because our peacock population took a plunge last year for the worse.

As i said in my previous post try the lakes in kendall and Miramar/Pines. You are coming at a good time as the peacock are bedding and getting into spawning mode.

As far as the bait goes, as long as their in their beds you can throw a bare hook at them and the will crush it. But honestly, try a Rapala Xrap in the orange yellow and green pattern.

When you come down shoot me a PM and we can hook up and do some fishing.

I would also recommend x-raps. I used primarily gold and silver. They were very productive while I was there for a lot of species including peacocks.

some people are too sensative about matters like that...thank god they don't all work for fish and game. they would love their job too much...they would actually drive up and down canals inspecting fishmen  like losers

You mean what they are supposed to do? Just because you need to follow the laws doesn't make FWS or any other law enforcement losers. You can't choose what laws you want to follow. Period. You have nothing to worry about if your doing things legally.

And if you aren't, I hope you get caught. I just don't get people. They hate the fishing laws/regs, but without them they would be complaining about how they can't catch any fish because everybody has been taking everything they catch.

If only the fishing laws would be taken seriously down here :/

Maybe what needs to be done is more enforcement then? Things are pretty well under control up here, but I'm sure that's not the case in Florida.

They need to start hitting people with heavy fines and jail-time. Then call them losers while they are sitting in a cell. I'm sure that would take care of at least part of the problem.

Totally agree. Since i started fishing i have probably fished over 400 times and only 2 times out of those has someone asked me for my fishing license...

just make sure you have a fishing lic. that's all...

the tamiami canal (the more west the better) and waters south of the canal are good locations...

:duh: The only reason why you are still catching alot of fish there is because of fishing laws, game wardens and catch and release fishermen. Way to make fun of game wardens. :duh: I know a place with no fishing laws and most people bring their fish home. As a result its hard to get up to even 5 fish in a 14 acre reservoir. You dont want that to happen to your canals, do you? btw take the fish if you want, just dont go over the limit

nah...it won't...we are the US of A .....

ever heard of lawyers????? do you read the news???? heard of over populated jails?????

let's me frank here...no one will throw you in jail for violating some fish law :ROFL:unless you are killing an endangered species (now that's different)

fines and penalty are already heavy for some infractions like taking a under size snook for example....they can take all your gear and then slap you with a fine...

don't be a loser bro...look at the bigger picture ;) the guy wants to take a few pbass and perhaps an oscar or 2 :ROFL::ROFL:

Really?? you think that will get him in trouble with the law...you think fish and game really will hunt his law breaking butt down...if you do and believe fish and game should...get a life...

now i do believe that everyone needs to have a lic to fish and obey the size limits for highly fished game fish like snook....but since you are not a floridian and do not know how populated our waters are with pbass and other fish (native and not native)...CHILLLLLLLL;)

let me educate you bro...the reason why i'm still catching fish in FLORIDA...I'm only talking about FLORIDA...is because of our climate and abundant water ways (canals and lakes)...not because of fish and game...

it is called NATURE...

Nature is the reason why I didnt see any pbass in socal when I was there for 2 years....;)

next time you visit Disney why not stop by in south floirida and check out our waters before giving the lame example of the 14 acre reservoir...know your topic before making conclusions...

if you havent been there don't compare to the crappy fishing in socal...;)
