Totally agree. Since i started fishing i have probably fished over 400 times and only 2 times out of those has someone asked me for my fishing license...

no one ever ask for my lic and i have it on me all the time in my wallet...:)

Thanks for making fun of the law enforcement and wildlife officials who are members of this site and are doing their job.

always willing to help

they have better things to worry about than someone wanting to take a few fish out of our populated canals...hmmmm let me see...nile monitors, pythons, illegal imports, fishing season regulations, hunting season, making sure desired natived species like snook is not over fished, lobster season...should i go on????

trust me, pbass, oscars, and jags are the last things on their mind...if it is the first, that person is a loser...and should reprioritize his or her tasks...:)

I would really like to meet them if their in Miami. It seems everywhere i go down here theres always some canepole killa with a weighted treble hook snatching up snook and bass.

I hate to bash on Out FWC, but they don't do enough, specially in the keys for saltwater fishing. Youd need to live here to understand how badly some people overfish our waters...

As for the OP try either Miramar/Pines or Kendall for the peacock bass. Look at all the community lakes in residential neighborhoods and try them :)

dont get me started with the cane poles bro...they are the ones truely over fishing and without a lic. :irked::irked::irked:

i agree the salt water regulation sucks and that's why freshwater is not and should not be their top priority as the native species are not threaten...in fact we are asked to take out all the non-natives :ROFL::ROFL: which i do not agree with since they are now a part of the food chain and do not seem to be affecting the native species population...:)

:duh: The only reason why you are still catching alot of fish there is because of fishing laws, game wardens and catch and release fishermen. Way to make fun of game wardens. :duh: I know a place with no fishing laws and most people bring their fish home. As a result its hard to get up to even 5 fish in a 14 acre reservoir. You dont want that to happen to your canals, do you? btw take the fish if you want, just dont go over the limit

WRONG!

The only reason we are still catching fish down here is because of the abundance of canals and lakes. Ive had quite a few spots that used to produce greatly go bad over the years, yet i only Catch and Release in FW.

When fishing fresh water in south florida, youd have to live here to understand how FWC does not give a rats ass about freshwater. They are more worried about all saltwater stuff as HKN said and i thihnk thats their doing the right thing. Although if it was upto me id definately employ some of them to only check out lakes in parks.

nah...it won't...we are the US of A .....

ever heard of lawyers????? do you read the news???? heard of over populated jails?????

let's me frank here...no one will throw you in jail for violating some fish law :ROFL:unless you are killing an endangered species (now that's different)

fines and penalty are already heavy for some infractions like taking a under size snook for example....they can take all your gear and then slap you with a fine...

don't be a loser bro...look at the bigger picture ;) the guy wants to take a few pbass and perhaps an oscar or 2 :ROFL::ROFL:

Really?? you think that will get him in trouble with the law...you think fish and game really will hunt his law breaking butt down...if you do and believe fish and game should...get a life...

now i do believe that everyone needs to have a lic to fish and obey the size limits for highly fished game fish like snook....but since you are not a floridian and do not know how populated our waters are with pbass and other fish (native and not native)...CHILLLLLLLL;)

Your beliefs do not matter in the slightest bit. If it is illegal in any way, it is ILLEGAL. There is no such thing as illegal, but still ok to do. If you need a special permit for collection, then get one and don't complain about it. And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you "floridians" lose over half of your pbass in that recent freeze?

Last winter a guy on a lake up here took 130 yellow perch from a lake 3 times in one week. The limit is 50 per day. They used security footage from a nearby store and caught the guy 3 weeks later after getting a tip from another fisherman. He went to jail for 10 days, paid over $5,000 in fines, and had his license revoked. You think that idiot will break the law again? I don't think so. That's how you get people to obey the laws and regulations. Those extra perch may not have been bad for the overall population, but when you get 100 or more people that think they are above the law, like you seem to think you are, that population could be decimated in a matter of weeks.

I'll tell you what. Go catch something that you think "doesn't matter" and you need a permit for. If you get stopped by Fish and Wildlife just explain to them how overpopulated the waters are. That will surely get you off the hook...

Like I said before, you don't have the ability to choose what laws you follow, no matter what you think. And if your waters are so exceedingly overcrowded, why do you even believe that you need to obey size limits or have a license at all?

Ok guys, everyone has made their point. Anymore name calling and infractions will be dished out. Thanks!

No problem. And sorry to the OP for the derail.:)

let me educate you bro...the reason why i'm still catching fish in FLORIDA...I'm only talking about FLORIDA...is because of our climate and abundant water ways (canals and lakes)...not because of fish and game...

it is called NATURE...

Nature is the reason why I didnt see any pbass in socal when I was there for 2 years....;)

next time you visit Disney why not stop by in south floirida and check out our waters before giving the lame example of the 14 acre reservoir...know your topic before making conclusions...

if you havent been there don't compare to the crappy fishing in socal...;)
Ignorance :duh: .... I wasnt talking bout so cal. Im talking about a place full of lakes canals reservoirs thats full on tropical unlike florida. Too lazy to explain. Its all good now w the regs n limits. u cant possibly imagine wad i mean until you've seen it. Trust me without those, fishing will be terrible.
