commercial breeders use hormone injections. I'd prefer a natural approach- let them enjoy it.

This to me, is scary. Sumatra and Kalimantan clowns have a 900+ million year difference in genetics...

It does'nt matter if it can be done or not still going to try . I bwlieve I have probably 2 more years at least till ours are old enough or big enough could be new technology to help by then. Nothing was ever accomplished by saying it can't be doneI know that for a fact. Look at history I bet they said there would never be a man stand on the moon.

I agree 110% and support you on this journey and it shall be done, and as a personal note technology might slow you down only because it wasn't there before.....the roots Wild Bill the roots.....

Try raising two sets of shoal, untill they reach maturity... then combine them... Ive seen a few tanks with 20+ CL with no luck, But I've never heard of someone combining two shoals into one large one when they hit maturity... I would like to see what comes of two alpha CL coming together if they were opposite sexes

I think most alpha clowns tend to be female, larger and heavier.

Maybe thats the answer - 'Sisters like doing it for themselves ' :)

If that fella named above did manage to breed them.... the fact that it was accidental is irrelevant, It is a fortunate accident that will discover how it is done. If it were something obvious then the pro's would have done it by now.

I have 'bred' Kulie loaches, about fourty years ago, but I have no idea how, just found the babies in a negleted tank.

I also agree with the OP. it is the challenge that counts. I want to get back into the hobby but I want a purpose for doing so. This is it.

Clown house you mentioned the neglectted tank that may be a key right there. It was stated they like a low ph and a big well for a better term neglected fx5 can lower the ph in a tank alot. There may also be the ferimones not sure how to spell it but they may also help increase the urge to spawn. If that filter is full of them then that may be a key. the key is out there maybe one of us will find it lets keep looking.
