I have heard that they will not be a mix of the two but some of each. It's my first time with gourami, so I'm just thrilled at how well it's going.

Cant wait until they start to color up.
You should start a journal with the water parameters etc.
I can't seem to find a good aquarium journal. I would love to find one. I looked when I started breeding angelfish and did end up starting a blog but I found that Facebook posts were just as good as anything.
They are more challenging in that they were much smaller and there are soooooo many of them. Much smaller. I had to figure out how to feed them for the first few days. I ended up feeding them the egg yolks (which was really gross and smelly but it worked) and then I bought a spice grinder and ground my own food.
I did a little of both. It took a very long time, though.
