Should I keep trying to ban bowls?

You spend to much time worrying about what others think. If you don't think your arrogant then isn't that all that matters? Whether or not someone is "arrogant" is entirely opinion, and opinions are like bum holes, everyone has one. :)
 
Just do it. If bowl keepers give you hate push harder and you will have the last laugh. I would love to see bowls banned but we have massive problems with housing and people living in cities of shacks so i doubt anything will happen if i try. Nothing happens if you dont try

It is not bowl keepers that gave me hate. It was experienced goldfish keepers.

That is sad. I am trying to give my goldfish a bigger tank. At some point i want to get 2 fancy goldfish when i redo my 70, 35 gallons a fish with large water changes is pretty good for goldies i think

If someone can't take care of anything more than a bowl, then they ready for this hobby.
