Hey guys I live in canada and recently a found a guy that sold 4 inch fly river turtles for 300 bucks. i bargained for 150 but he said he'll sell one to me for 200. Is that a good deal??? I want one bad!! What the growth rate for the turtle?? does it injure fish. I have a couple of 4 inch bichirs in my 75 gallon tank. will they cohab?? Thanks. If i buy it for 2oo, is there a good chance I can gain profit and sell the turtle for 300 or more buck???

thanks

wtf hell yeah, wtf i would buy em all

I would say that is one hell of a deal. I was going to pay 900 for one at one point

That is ridiculously cheap. Are they healthy? Any shell issues? They are prone to shell infections, and will outgrow a 75 in a year or two. Cover three sides of the tank to prevent "pacing"; and keep your water quality high. :)

I can tell you my Lfs has 3 and the sign says don't ask unless you have 4000 in your pocket. Kinda steep I think but they are super rare,

$600-800 is the going rate for FRT's that are healthy. Ask for pictures of them and video if he can to confirm that they are in good shape, if they are, buy them all.

Extremely good deal. They CANNOT be imported to the US at all. No different than a asian aro. It is big time trouble to get caught taking it across the border. They are also usually worth more the smaller they are. At 4" they were taken from the wild, this is one of the reasons they are endangered along with asian taste for turtle soup. A 75g is not big enough even to start them in. These turtles move constantly swimming from one end to the other. They like to turn while gliding around and a 75 would have them banging into the glass constantly. FRT also do mess with slow or smaller fish.
