Yeap, need a pic.....If it's just a low grade flowerhorn...then you coulda just grabbed a trimac for about 40-50% cheaper.
But it really depends if YOU like the fish.....at 11" the fish is pretty developed and looks awesome whether the grade....if ya like it, it's worth it! But then again if he bought it for $180, it must be a pretty nice Flowerhorn then!
Is it pearly? Hump? Thick body? Any red? How's the flowerline?

the fish is gorgeous....nice red throat and great black spots with a more florescent green around them. the dorsal fins veil hangs atleast 1.5-2" past the tail. the hump isnt huge but its only tank mate is a female Feisty($50 if i want that). he is on another site and has had offers of $200 plus for the Feisty but he doesnt want to ship it. he showed me the aggresion of the flowerhorn with his Barred Midas in his bigger tank....lip locked for atleast 30seconds and the flowerhorn won....then the Midas being about 3" bigger just went nuts and PUNKed the FH. We got him out of there fast! im on the fence $100 is a lot of money....so is $50 for the feisty. UGH I HATE DECISIONS!
im thinking of going with the Festae.....cheaper but still an AWESOME FISH

plus my buddy said that the FH would destroy my JD. we are gonna try out for a lil while and see if the Festae is going to punk my Jd or not. any ideas has to what will happen???

the fish is 3.5 years old....not near the end of his life just a monster and i was wrong about the size....its in a bowfront and kinda distorts the fish....we measured it at 9 in. i was close tho. the Festae was measured at 7in. how big do they get?
male festae can reach 16" or more but often times max out in aquaria closer to 12-14". females can reach 12" and often do in aquaria. 
festae can be aggressive as any species out there, and the bad thing is you likely won't see any problems between the fish. they may be fine for a while but one day the festae may snap and kill the dempsey very quickly. red terrors have a reputation for being fine with tankmates and then one day going on a psychotic killing spree while you're asleep.

HAHA i just saw your name and avatar and i was going to ask for you your opinion. the JD and the Female Festae are about the same size......the would also be a 4" JAG. the JAG thinks he is the man....flares at the JD but backs away and loves to flare at me when i look in. what do you think about the 3 of them? maybe another 4" fish to spread aggresion?
