Heavy planted, a couple hiding spots right now. I had a few bamboo tubes in there, but i was told that bamboo would rot in the water and make it toxic, so i removed them. My Delhezi will hide behind a cave in the quarantine tank, and not in it, even though it has 2 entrances/exits and would be easy for him to swim through and stretch out. So will my tank be fine for them as is, or do i need to suck it up and get over my dislike for ugly PvC Pipes and put some in?

So, basically, is it an ok tank for 2-3 Bichirs and 2-3 Rope Fish to live in?
Does anything need to be done dif?
Any more plants, less plants, more hiding spots, less, etc etc..?

(If you need clearer shots, i can get them asap..)

The number of bichir and rope fish you are planning to put in is too much especiall if they are delhezis. For your expectations, you'll need at least a 100 gal to house 2 to 3 full grown dels. also a HEAVILY PLANTED tank for bichirs is not a smart idea. they are fairly clumbsy fish once they get older and will definitly knock down plants that are not firmly sucure to the gravel, sand.

I definately disagree with this. All my bichirs are kept in heavily planted tanks. Once the plants are established, they sray very firmly rooted in the substrate. Nothing is more natural for bichirs, as this is the type of habitat they live in in the wild.

False, 3 delhezi can live happily in a 50~60g minimum

Lol, no arguing please, i guess everyone has dif experiences with Bichirs and Ropes.. Ill just have to buy a few bichirs, hopefully dels, and see how it works out, if need be i'll buy a bigger tank..

Right now though my bichir is extremely happy in his new tank, he's even gotten more color.. i had to remove a few plants though cause he got stuck, and had to rig the heater so he couldnt swim between it and the tank wall. After seeing that post on this website about the kids bichir that got stuck and its stomach burned out, i got a little paranoid. For now though ill leave it heavily planted, as he does like to hide in several of the plants.
